Personal Power and Digestion
I was compelled to write this newsletter because so much of my work is in the area of spiritual healing. So often people will come to me with physical ailments and as our session progresses, it becomes evident to me that the issue is not physical at all. This is the first of a multi-part series on the connection between the physical and non-physical aspects of our lives.
Healing occurs on four levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. We often focus on the physical when the underlying cause is emotional, mental or spiritual.
I’ve seen frustration in patients looking for a diagnosis, a physical cause, spending time and money addressing physical symptoms alone with limited or no results. On a spiritual level, when our beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and awareness need to shift, the physical symptoms may be the only clue.
Digestive issues occur in the area of the solar plexus chakra. This chakra is our place of personal power. When there are recurring digestive issues, the cause may lie in the emotional, mental, spiritual levels, our solar plexus chakra and our personal power.
How do we give our power away? We can give our power away to the name of a disease, believing we are weaker than the disease process. We might feel that another person has taken our power: a boss, a friend, a relationship partner, but they cannot take what we give willingly. Sometimes we allow others to have power over us, thinking it will strengthen our relationship, only to find that it has weakened us and the relationship.
Nobody can take your personal power. Nothing can take it away from you, but you may have given it away without being consciously aware of your action.
Non-physical issues are present for as long as we allow them: a year, a lifetime. When we shift our consciousness or learn to change our beliefs and thoughts, the improvement can be instantaneous. Changing our minds with awareness does change our chemistry. Lessons learned are often what we came in this life to do. We are guided by how we feel. The shifting that is possible from within empowers us without taking away anyone else’s power, including doctors, our bosses and our relationships.
So if you’re suffering physical conditions such as digestive distress and nothing seems to be relieving your discomfort, you may be experiencing a physical symptom of a deeper cause in the emotional, mental, or spiritual realm. Taking a step back to see the bigger picture may well get you back on the road to recovery. My next newsletter will be titled “Life Purpose and How Symptoms Reveal the Bigger Picture.”
Wishing you good health!
